CENTRAL FLORIDA TECH DUO WORK GLOBALLY BUT GIVE BACK LOCALLY
David Laietta and Mark Bunker have teamed to re-launch Orange Blossom Media as one of the most forward-thinking web design and development firms in the Orlando area. Specializing in helping small to midsize companies build better business solutions, the duo bring a unique combination of development and UI/UX design skills, perfect to enhance the growing tech landscape here in Central Florida.
Orange Blossom Media already has a proven track record of working internationally with companies ranging from the high tech and space industry to smaller educational groups. They are currently working with Curriki, an open educational resource out of Colorado that serves over 400,000 members, to reimagine the member experience on the company website.
“We’re working on updating Curriki to match the service to users that didn’t exist when it was launched ten years ago,” Laietta explains. “This includes better support for multiple languages and device capability for the worldwide audience that they now serve.”
Although Laietta and Bunker focus creating large-scale websites with an international reach, they have also use their talents to help build the tech community here in Central Florida.
As co-founder of the WordPress Orlando Meetup group, Laietta oversees monthly educational meetups for a community of over 1,000 members here in Central Florida. He also organizes the annual WordCamp Orlando, which draws over 400 people to the two day conference to learn about using WordPress and overall website design.
Bunker brings vast experience as the former Director of Design at Noble International. Now able to draw upon the resources of his own design firm, Grey Gorilla Design, Mark provides a multitude of guidance from product and graphic design to art director to provide clients with truly unique branding.
Their talents are easily seen in the exciting new StartOrlando.com website, a hyper-local site dedicated to connecting qualified techies with job postings. The service is free to use and can grow to be a vital resource for Orlando companies.
“While Mark and I think globally, our hearts are here locally,” David explains. “We’re lucky to live and work here in Orlando where the tech scene is truly developing. We’re proud to play a part in helping it grow.”
